How Deep Do The Acupuncture Needles Go In?

6/7/2016

Not much. Seriously. I gently tap them in and as long as they aren’t flopping over, I leave them alone. I don’t fiddle-faddle with the needles. No twisting or poking around. Promise.

A majority of the needles I use are 1 inch long (excluding the handle). I usually insert them no deeper than 1/4 inch.  Rarely 1/2 inch, but that depends on the size of my patient and if it’s a “meaty” area for the body- like your upper arm.
